What’s in a Name?

“How did SoundWay get its name? And, why a Seagull ?”

Good Question – and one I’m asked a lot and proud to answer

I’m from Rocky Point. A little town on the North Shore of Long Island, New York. And, I grew up on SoundWay Drive.

I was blessed with loving, hard-working, parents, five siblings, THE BEACH right at the end of my block, and great neighbors who have become life-long friends and an extension of my family.

I grew up on the beach. We’d walk to the beach and spend the whole day on the beach; swimming, netting for baby fish, climbing the jetty, hanging out with friends, parties & bonfires on the beach.  Of course, seagulls – on the beach.

I first painted the SoundWay seagull in High School for an art class project.  I’ve been drawing it and doodling it ever since.

When I decided to start a company, the decision was easy, the name would be SoundWay and the logo would be the Seagull. The name and the logo mean something, they pay homage to the people, to a place, and time that means the world to me and that played a big part in shaping who I am and so many fond memories.

I strive every day to make SoundWay, and SoundWay Drive, proud.
